Offering a contemporary and FRESH forward approach to cafeteria style counter service dining, The FÜD BAR is a quick and casual neighborhood food spot in the Gentilly/Lake Terrace neighborhood serving "Chef Prepared Meals for the Home Cookin' Crowd".

Serving weekday Lunch & Dinner from 11am to 9pm, The FÜD BAR is your go to place for a wholesome from scratch meal that is not only delicious but is also quick, convenient and affordable.  A variety of hot entrées are available daily and served with your choice of fresh vegetables and other sides.  Made to order Pressed Sandwiches, Wraps &  Quesadillas are also available as well as house made soups, gumbo and salads.

Dine in and enjoy your meal with draft beers and wines on tap or call ahead to have any of our signature Meat & 3s packaged "family style" to pick up and feed your group of 4 or more.

MENUS

To offer more variety and to keep things fresh and interesting, some menu choices will change from day to day.  Meat & 3 selections will always include a Chicken, a Pork and a Red Meat dish as well as a Seafood or Fish option.  One Pot creations and Soup selections will include both Vegetarian and Traditional choices.  As all of our cooking is fresh and from scratch, menus are subject to change based on the availability of the best ingredients

Soups

Roasted Fennel and Tomato Soup

Fresh Fennel Bulbs are roasted on a high heat and then cooked with Onions, Fire Roasted Tomatoes, Garlic, Parsley, Basil and Vegetable Stock. After simmering for an hour or so to allow all the flavors to marry, the soup is pureed.  A garnish of Fennel Frond and Parmesan Cheese tops off this vegetarian soup.

 

Chicken & Andouille Gumbo

A Dark Roux, House Made Chicken Stock, Rotisserie Chicken and Local Andouille Sausage combine with Okra, Poblano Peppers, Onions, Celery, Garlic, Diced Tomato, Thyme, Bay Leaf, Parsley and Crystal Hot Sauce to form this local favorite.

Rotisserie Chicken

Half of a Chicken that is brined and cooked in house on our rotisserie until golden brown.  Each portion comes with choice of our Chimichurri or Lemon Herb Vinaigrette

Beef Brisket

Beef Brisket rubbed with a house mix of Brown Sugar, Smoked Paprika,

Garlic Powder, Chili Powder, Thyme, Salt and Black Pepper and

oven roasted for 12+ hours

 Pork Carnitas

Literally translated as “little meats”, Pork Butt is cut into small pieces, tossed with salt and pepper and mixed with Oranges, Limes, Lemons, Garlic and Cinnamon stick before being cooked slowly over several hours to produce this flavorful and fork tender presentation of a Mexican classic.

Pan Seared Gulf Fish with "Creole" Sauté

Fresh Gulf Fish that is Pan Seared with a "Creole" Sauté of Celery, Onion, Poblano Pepper, Garlic,  Parsley and Worcestershire

 Gulf Fish Amandine

Pan Seared Drum is topped with our Meunière Brown Butter made by cooking Whole Unsalted Butter on a high heat until dark brown and finished with Red Wine Vinegar, Lemon Juice, Salt and Toasted Almonds.

Add Fresh Louisiana Blue Crab Meat for an extra charge. SEASONAL

  Crawfish Étouffée

A New Orleans classic prepared with Breaux Bridge Crawfish tails served over rice. 

Also available with Gulf Shrimp.

Red Beans & Rice with Andouille

Vegetable Medley – Today’s fresh selections sautéed and lightly seasoned

Southern Braised Kale - Fresh Kale braised in Apple Cider Vinegar with Tasso, Bacon, Brown Sugar & Steen's Cane Syrup.

Steamed Broccoli - Broccoli Florets quickly blanched and tossed with a bit of Salt and served al dente.  Great tasting and great for you.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes – Quartered Sweet Potatoes are tossed with Garlic Oil and Salt and roasted on a high heat for caramelization.

Black Beans - Black Beans are cooked with Caramelized Onions, Celery, Garlic and Poblano Peppers until naturally creamy and seasoned with Cumin, Coriander, Crystal Hot Sauce, Salt and Pepper.

Corn Maque Choux - Creole corn made with corn, peppers and onion in a light cream base.

Twice Baked Potatoes - Idaho Potatoes are tossed in Oil and Salt and baked for an hour.  They are then cut in half and the Potato is removed from the skin and mixed with Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Heavy Cream, Butter, Salt and Green Onion.  The mixture is put back into the empty skins, topped with Cheddar Cheese and baked again.

Green rice - White Rice is cooked with a puree of Cilantro, Parsley, Green Onion, Garlic, Jalapeno Pepper and Oil.  Salt is added; this bright Green Rice has a bit of spice and a ton of flavor.

Mac  and Cheese ­- Our take on this classic includes Macaroni Noodles tossed in a Cheese Sauce consisting of Milk, Cheddar Cheese, Cream Cheese and Queso Blanco.

 Stewed Zuchini & Squash - A Southern Louisiana staple made with zucchini, squash, tomato, onion & garlic

Mashed Potatoes (Monday & Wednesday Only) - Idaho Potatoes with Milk, Butter and Salt.  Simple and delicious.
